Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to begin their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might look mismatched, but the events of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—used the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and The healer, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as important members in the powerful family could assist the team reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The fighter swore a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to the remote area in quest for the traitor.
